I use Excel in the office and at home on a regular basis and only ever use a small fraction of the functions that are on offer, so I thought taking this course on CD-ROM would give me a better knowledge and get more out of the program. I am using the XP version and found it extremely helpful. There are three courses on each CD, for beginner, intermediate and advanced users; I took the intermediate one at first as I knew the basics and then moved onto advanced to really get the most out of it!
You are guided around the interface and shown how to find your way around the program before getting down to learning actual skills. You can practice using exerceises that are designed to make sure that you understand everything the program is telling you.
All in all - it's a great interactive course and I would reccomend it if you are a beginner or if like me, you just want to get some more out of Excel and become more efficient at using it.

After purchasing this item, I was surprised that the teaching interface is different between the 2000 and XP office versions. Whilst the XP version is an attractive looking full screen web style program, the 2000 version is a poor 640x480 box (that cannot be altered), which sits somewhat pathetically in the middle of a 1024x768 setting. The instructions are therefore cramped and difficult to read, not what I would expect to buy from a CD that claims XP status.
This is very disappointing indeed and I would strongly recommend looking for another programme if you are looking for an office 2000 tutorial.
