"What a gift! Imagine reading a charming and delightful book full of games to play with your child--and having that child come out a reader by the time you've finished!...."

Product Description

The reading method and lessons presented here are specifically designed to be motivating, fun, and rewarding. Using flash cards, games, charts, and books, the programme emphasises that most children with Down syndrome are visual learners. It Works!!! 4 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I know a young lady with Down Syndrome who was taught how to read using this system. She is now an adult and reads the newspaper every day. Especially the baseball box scores! I know this works. I can't wait to see how my son does with it. He is 5 1/2 and just started Kindergarten. He has DS and when I showed the book to his teacher she immediately knew she had to have it. Thank you Pat Oelwein!

This book clearly explains the way children learn to read, from pre-reading to fluency. The side issue of learning how to write is also addressed. Note to parents: your child's teacher has probably never seen this book. Do the teacher and your child a favor by passing one on to them.
