4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the purchase! 29 Oct 2009
By R
Format:Paperback
Whenever you need a quick starter activity, this book has good ideas. It is also useful when implementing drama and ICT in English lessons.

Sometimes the ideas seem too simple, however year 7 pupils will enjoy the most of them.

The chapters include: punctuation, writing, reading, comprehension, poetry, plays, non fiction, speaking and listening, thinking skills, drama, ICT, boys and English and differentiation. The ideas are fun, innovative and fresh!!! Brilliant to complement an NQT.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good starting block! 10 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback
This book is great to get ideas.

It pretty much covers the content of the NC in very simple one page overview.

It is not very detailed so it is extremely quick to use and ideal to dip in and out of for ideas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty useful 31 Dec 2010
Format:Paperback
Well organised and clear. I've used a couple of ideas from the book so far. Not life-changing but pretty useful and has shaken up a couple of my lessons. The John Clare "The Badger" one worked well - good intro to a challenging poet for year 8.
