A very good book that made me rethink how I related to students, note that I am a mature student training as teacher in FE and was quite "old school" in style. This book improved my self awareness, my ability to empathise and improved my work on how I presented myself to students (cf Goffman and Goleman). Highly Recommended.

I bought this book and had it downloaded to my kindle - I had wanted to use it as a reference text for some teaching I am doing - and found that while kindles are fine for novels - mine is useless if you want to use it as a text book.

The appendices and activity sheets do not appear and much of the text is missing.

I regret wasting my money on this version. The book is fine - good in fact - but DO NOT BUY ON KINDLE.

I love this book - so far have only had time to dip in and out of it but want to read all the way through - loads of concepts and ideas to use in the classroom. Was recommended by my tutor who is really excellent in this field and am pleased I followed her advice and bought my own copy.
