DVD Description

Set in the fictional Summerdown Comprehensive in Bristol, Teachers is the hugely successful comedy drama following the chaotic lives of a group of perpetually juvenile teachers, whose specialist subjects include beer-drinking, kebab-eating and ineptness with members of the opposite sex. Set as much out of the classroom as in it, this is a contemporary light-hearted series where the staff find their lives just as problematic after school. They are the teachers no parent would want teaching their kids, specialising in immaturity rather than the traditional subjects. They have their own cliques, gossips and bullies and their own idea of a practical joke. Follow them making friends, breaking friends, trying to figure out the opposite sex, fighting in the playground… and dealing with lippy pupils.

Top of the class! 9 Mar 2006
Firstly, I do not understand those who have given it such a rubbish rating as 1 star! What the hell is that about?! This series has serious class - I started watching it because I want to be a teacher (I am 21 by the way, not a stupid child!), and channel 4 has a good rep with comedy dramas...and I was right. I disagree with it's grip on reality...perhaps not all teachers are quite as drunken, have quite as many illicit affairs, but it's like all TV - over emphasis! I know teachers who go to the same pub just down the road from my old school pretty much every night, there were several 'incidents' between teaching staff and to be honest, isn't every drama just that - dramatic?

I think this is a class series, with an ace soundtrack...I own series 1-3 and think they start to seriously go downhill after Simon leaves (and then Susan - where does she go, because it never tells us?!), but series 3 has it's moments. I am going to buy series 4 just to complete my collection, but it is seriously lacking in everything the original series had.

Overall - just enjoy it for what it is, don't go over-analysing it, and don't expect a fly-on-the-wall, and you will love it :)

Finally it's arrived! 2 July 2004
Well, the time has finally arrived for the 'must have' Christmas presant of the year. The Teachers DVD box set!
With the forth series currently in the making, these classic episodes will keep you ammused till late November when the new series will be screened.
This boxset will let you get to know the Teachers from day one. Anyone who knows a teacher, or is one them self will be able to relate to the issues raised.
Three series, eight discs, hours of fun.
Bring on the Christmas special!

A great show 8 May 2010
By Dr Love
This is a very very funny show. This box set included the first 3 series. The 4th series (not in this box set) is different and most of the cast that made the show great have left. I would not bother with anything other than the first 3 series.

The show is about a group of teachers who are more like the kids than the kids themselves. I always laugh out loud with this series and at the end of every episode I have a big smile on my face. It is so refreshing watching a show that doesn't have the typical Hollywood artificial glucose type ring to it. I always recommend this show to my friends.
