Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

The soundtrack to Channel 4's cutting edge drama series Teachers--like the soundtracks to most of Channel 4's "cutting edge" drama series--is packed full of songs guaranteed to appeal to today's "hip" twenty-to-thirtysomethings. Except that it isn't quite as hip as it thinks it is. Although it has more than its share of modern and left-field classics (dEUS's "Little Arithmetics", Doves' "Catch the Sun" and Mr Scruff's "Get a Move On", to name but three), it also has a few too many tracks by Britpops second and third stringers. Shed Seven's "She Left Me on Friday" and the Supernaturals' "The Day Before Yesterday's Man" sound hopelessly dated only a few years after their original release, while Mover's "Move Over" and the Dandys' "I Wanna Be Like You" are utterly forgettable. Still, one can never hear great tracks like Feeder's "Buck Rogers" and Faithless's "Insomnia" too often. --Robert Burrow

brilliant, love it 6 Jan 2004
Format:Audio CD
this is a fantastic albulm and unlike a lot of soundtracks it doesn't detract from it that you imagine the characters whilst listening to it. In fact as teachers was such a brilliant series it probably adds to the wonderfulness.
It's a brilliant albulm even if you haven't seen the series beacause it has such a variety of music that somehow still manages to fit together.
I recommend this to anyone anywhere

...alas it loses a star poitn as it does not house the actual TV theme, kinda defeats the object to have an OST without the main theme tune!! Bit of a shame as it was a rather good little ditty. Apart from that, as a previous listner says, it seem to give cult status already,.. can't wait for a DVD box set of the series...

a future bright hope. 22 Mar 2001

Excellent mix on this soundtrack, which I think may well attain the "cult" status in 5 years time from now as occurred with "this life", as a series/ soundtrack which defines the early '00's era. Enjoy it now, because in a few years time it'll be nothing more than nostalgia!
