I am a Secondary School Science trainee teacher purchasing my own resources.

I bought this book and intended to use it for keeping a record of my classes attendance and work at secondary level for science.
This book is not suitable for secondary teachers, only primary. I have 5 different classes (which will rise to 8/9) each with ~30 students and this book doesn't allow me to enter all their data.

This books contains;

1st page: "This book belongs to..."

Pages 2 & 3: "Student Roster" - boxes to complete to contain information of up to 36 pupils regarding their name, Guardian, Telephone, and Address.

Pages 4 & 5: "Year at a glance", the months of the year have big boxes to fill like a calendar.

Pages 6 - 62 : Spread sheets for assignments or attendance. Each spread sheet includes headings 'Subject' and 'period', there are spaces for 36 pupils over 10 weeks, with M,T,W,T,F beneath each week, small boxes for date and a space for assignment or attendance. So there are 27 sheets.

Pages 63 & 64 : "Notes" Lines sheets for notes.

What I like about the book is that each sheet is perforated to allow students names to be folded back to carry onto another sheet either for attendance of performance without re-writing names.

Also I found that the Plain smooth cover of the book allows the use of drywipe markers to be used, like a mini white board. Be aware that the cover is red and may not be visible to everyone

It would also be suitable for children playing 'schools'.

I will be using this book, for the 5 months I have left on a reduced timetable of teaching this will do and it was cheap enough.
For full time secondary school teachers this may not be suitable at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Record Book 14 Jan 2011

Just wanted to let people know more clearly what this item is - a book full of grids or 'tick lists'. Thats it. You can list children's names then there are hundreds of spaces for 'ticks' (it suggests for 'attendance' or 'assignments'!)I think the only thing i will use it for is to keep track of whether homework has been handed in. Just dont get too excited! It was cheap enough but wouldnt have paid more than a few pounds.

Excellent product for any budding teacher! My daughter [aged 9] loves being the teacher and this went down a storm with her as it is effectively a school register!
Excellent value!

5.0 out of 5 stars Teacher Record book 21 April 2012
I bought this to make a 'school play set' for my son. He loves it as it has columns, boxes etc to tick and write in.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars fit for purpose 9 May 2014

I do some private teaching of children and adults in groups. I need a quite simple form of register. I have tried several other registers. This register is the one most suited to my needs. It has large enough spaces for writing in the required details of each child or adult and enouth space to record all the details of the work done. Check this.
