Before in BASIC the way is with the instruction OUT m,n where m is the number of the parallel (print) port of the PC and n is the number between 0 and 255 of the byte. But this instruction no appears in VISUAL BASIC. THERE ARE SOME WAY FOR DO IT? PLEASE TELL ME! The book is very good for newcomers to VB however it does not give detail about the more complex structures of the VB language. The lack of detail restricts the diversity of the work that can be produced and there is an annoying amount of repeated information as the code explanations are too recursive and the code explanations are too recursive because the code explanations are too recursive. If you have any knowledge of VB this book probably won't be able to further your learning. From experiences there are better books for the technically advanced.

great 23 May 2000
Format:Paperback
Brilliant! I've written a course around it. Some students tell me how so easy it is to follow - my lessons are not? To nit-pick would be to say that error handling is brushed over in Chapter 6 and procedures are used in one chapter and explained in the next but overall a fantastic book. Beware that the "same" title VB 6 in 21 Days is completely different - by a different author- suffice it to say that I still user the VB 5 book even tho' I'm using VB 6 compilers.

This book has received a lot of good reviews. Everyone has an opinion. My opinion is that it is a horrible book. The presentation is terrible and it really doesn't catch your attention or give you any desire to continue learning. There are many other books that are much better.

Quick, easy, informative with few typos.
I almost never give 5 stars, but this book is close. The program steps provide details without getting boring. A good book to learn VB, but not a good reference book.

Great book for real beginners.
This book reviews most of the introductory topics of VB. The sample programs are simple but illustrative. On the negitive side, the code explainations are too recursive.
