I have a nineteen-string harp and found this tutor really sound. The explications were clear, the music was varied and progressive. I have been inspired to continue with enthusiasm. The only problem that I found was that some of the pieces needed to be adapted to fit on my harp, it would be useful if some range indication was availiable. An inspiring tutor which I would recommend to all beginners.

I really enjoyed going through this book, some of the pieces I still use for performing at local music festivals. The book takes you progressively through various musical stages and I found that the CD (purchased separately I think!) was also useful - it's good to hear what the songs are supposed to sound like!! You really feel like you have achieved something with even the most simple of pieces at the beginning, leading right up to the more complicated pieces toward the back of the book. The exercises and theory lessons are also pretty good.

I started out using a small harp (22 string) with this book, but a few songs require adaption or a bigger harp! This book is definately worth having even if you are fortunate enough to have regular tuition.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to play the harp and this was an inexpensive way of finding out. It is easy to follow, fun and I felt that I was progressing fast without struggling. I would definately recommend this book to anyone starting out.
