1.0 out of 5 stars .........., 5 April 1999

This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself Database Programming with Visual Basic 6 in 21 Days (Paperback)
Disappointed by shallow description on topics, and programs in supplied CD does not work at all due to broken mdb files ..etc. This book caused too much frustration on me due to the fact that I had to try to debug most of the example code in the book. It is shocking to realise that you can learn far more on Database Programing from General VB 6.0 books than this book which supposed to be a dedicated Database Programming book. Badly written with no idea about the subject - stay away from this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars With some reservations, the book is a good intro., 4 Aug 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself Database Programming with Visual Basic 6 in 21 Days (Paperback)
Besides errors in example code, the instruction is poorly organized, episodic and in my opinion does not focus enough on where databases are moving: the web. Additionally, while the author gives a fairly clear presentation of DAO, the section on ADO is terrible! If you are more interested in learning VB db design the old way, this might be your book.

If you need to know the basics.... this book is for you. I would rate this 6 stars if i could. When I first opened the book I had a Heart attack. I needed to learn this for my new job. When I recovered I found I could not have bought a better book!
