How to teach Suzuki piano 3 July 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This 20-page book is a short introduction to the philosophy behind the Suzuki method of teaching piano. It gives very general guidelines on how piano teaching should be tackled. It provides the reader with a general idea on the Suzuki method but it is not very useful for someone interested in learning how to teach piano. It does not include any specifics and merely refers to the other books of the author about the method. The author's statements are not well justified and are only bases on the personal experience of the author. Some of them make sense but not all of them. It contains no figures nor music scores.

Wonderful resource for the private lesson music teacher 16 May 2009
By E.M. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a wonderful essay by Suzuki. The booklet is informative and reconfirms how children and smooth production of music are the focus of music lessons not only the music in and of itself.

I only gave it four stars however, due to the length of the pamphlet and the price thereof. I am not disappointed with my purchase, however, I was expecting more detailed outlines for example of how to implement the Suzuki method. I agree with the previous reviewer that this is a brief guide. IF you are interested in a step by step, I have not taught Suzuki before and this book should show me how, then do not purchase this pamphlet.

I must say though, that many of Suzuki's principles are reinforced by music greats around the world. Is the Suzuki method for everyone? No. But can it be valuable? Yes.

Great ideas for teaching Suzuki piano as well as violin. The listening and memorization are more important than I understood before.
Barebones Suzuki 16 Feb. 2013
By Robert H. Woody - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
In buying this book, I had hoped for considerable information about the underlying principles for the famed Suzuki method. I was disappointed greatly. Perhaps there is a cultural translation issue, but there seemed to be a dearth of theoretical and practical information. I will search for a more work that yields greater methodological insight.
