For a pornographer, and I have some experience in that area, it's very useful to have characters who've never heard of love or romance. It means one can take one's fantasies well over the top without denying their fundamental absurdity. Enrique Villagran doesn't take his transgressive fantasies too seriously, and neither should you.

What you get in return is 72 pages of deliberately wacky, well-drawn pornography that comes in every flavor except vanilla, unless you count a few tender lesbian sex scenes. "Teach Me!" introduces Daphne, Donna, and Roz, three schoolteachers who raise money by making their own porn videos (My favorite line of dialogue: "Will you put some tongue in that kiss! I have no intention of going back on unemployment this year!").

"How Wild WAS the West?," set in 1876, follows the erotic adventures of a rancher's wife and daughter, who are kidnapped by Indian raiders. A comedic take on the Marquis de Sade, it's a tale of liberation through degradation as our heroines achieve freedom and success by exploiting their talents as whores. Like de Sade, Villagran is more interested in going where his erotic imagination takes him than in conforming to anyone else's standards of what's morally or politically correct. Unlike de Sade, Villagran's stories are funnier, and are short enough not to get boring.
