Ballet Exceptional 4 Sep 2009
Having only seen Béjart ballets after his death in Paris where his company guested the Bastille Opera I marvel at the beauty and ekspressivness relayed through the dancers. When I then saw that the Nutcracker had come on DVD I just had to buy it and it is so full of experiences that I am amazed at the imagination put into this ballet. I must see it again and again as it is so beautiful, and I reccommend it to all ballet lovers--it is modern but modern in the way Béjart could do it and there are still all the classical movements there so that the ballet is not a gymnastics show. Buy it and you will never regret it! Thank you Béjart.

Classical ballet, one of the best in the music history, one of best works of Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker - this time choreographed and produced by Maurice Bejart. This production is unbelievable trip not only through incredible ballet story, but as well Bajart's life and his impressions related to Nutcracker. Chorography is modern, and interesting approach to classical ballet. Music mostly kept as original was slightly changed to make whole production `more French', Bejart decided to add accordion as the element connecting stories (original and personal) and cultures in this production. As the result you may experience a wonderful performance of very talented dancers in very modern approach. Wonderful gift, specially for Christmas, for anybody who likes modern dance or /and classical ballet.
