3.0 out of 5 stars The usual fun and games, but rather disappointing 15 July 2001
Format:Paperback
This book has a rather unfinished feel to it. I was looking forward to reading it, because Bobby Taylor has been one of SB's original SEALs and I wanted to get inside his mind. Unfortunately, I didn't. The plot mostly consisted of Colleen Skelly throwing herself at him while Bobby kept running because his friend Wes would kill him if he touched her. Eventually, of course, she caught him, and towards the end there was a little bit of SEAL type action, but nothing to get excited about. The main trouble is that you never felt you were getting to know Bobby. There was no mention of his family, of why he joined the SEALs or anything personal. At one point, he baked a coffee cake for breakfast. There was no reason given for why he could bake, or why he throught coffe cake was a suitable after-passion breakfast. I was also unhappy about the fact that Colleen was the one taking all the emotional risks while Bobby just kept running. That said, it was still a good yarn, with one or two excellent scenes in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly Excellent But Not Quite 7 Aug 2002
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm an avid fan of Suzanne Brockmann, and TT is still a keeper, but.. there is very little action in this book - most of the "supporting cast" that often makes the books (Joe, Blue, Ronnie, Crash, PJ Harvard etc)don't appear until the end if at all. Bobby spends most of the book self-analyzing and mentally wringing his hands over falling for his best friend's sister and it gets a little tedious after a while. Good yes, but not up there with Frisco's Kid, Get LUcky, The Admiral's Bride, which had the whole team racking up against serial rapists, mob kidnappers and poison-stealing racist terrorists. Nevertheless, still worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and entertaining read 9 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Bobby and Colleen are really well matched as a couple. Bobby is struggling against his powerful feelings about Colleen because she is his best friends' sister...but things get complicated because she more than likes him. Reading this powerful love story is funny, entertaining and sizzles the pages in this compelling drama about love denied. Well worth the read!!!
