I have used this thermometer countless times since purchase and have always had perfect results. Couldn't be simpler to use. Simply select the meat (and how you'd like it done if appropriate), insert the probe and leave it. You can set a timer (either counting up or down) and an audible alarm (including a pre-alarm). The display shows the current temp, the target temp and the cooking time. This enables you to prett accurately judge the remaining cooking time.
With the long cable attached probe you can use the thermometer in ovens and kettle bbqs.
The only reservation i've got is ensuring the probe is inserted in the thickest part of the joint and not against a bone as this will give innacurate results.
Overall, idiot proof cooking.

I have bought three of these. They don't seem to last very long- my current one now makes a horrible squawking sound instead of beeping, despite changing the batteries. More importantly the pre-set cooking temperatures are not good, and there is no way of setting your own. For example to cook a joint of beef medium, I find that taking it out of the oven at about 57°C and letting it rest is about right so it is around 63°C when we sit down to eat it. However the lowest setting is 60°C, which produces overcooked meat by the time it has rested. I am now looking for a different one that lets me set the temperature alarm.

Great probe - used it over Xmas for large joints - perfectly cooked meat each time. Very easy to use - I really couldn't manage without is now.
