All 24 episodes from the second season of the classic US sitcom about the lives of a disparate group of New York cabbies trying to navigate their way through the pitfalls of modern life. Set in a grubby garage, the odd mix of characters - would-be actor, single mum, immigrant mechanic, seen-it-all-before veteran, are ruled over by the caustic-tongued, manic-eyed dispatcher Louie De Palma, (Danny DeVito, relishing the role that brought him international fame). I bought this dvd from germany, also season 1. I remembered the show from my teenager years and I had warm feelings about it. I was so happy i found the series on amazon.uk, as it isnt offered in germany.
like the first season season two is great as well. it has the touch of "normality", which is missing in most more recent series and films. as said in the title, its sensible, funny, congenial, intelligent and natural :)
I hope the other seaons get relaesed too!
well, the picture is good enough, im watching the show with a video-beamer and apart from one very grainy episode i cant complain that much - off course its not a hd-production from 2004.
Taxi counts to my favorite series, like yes minister/prime minister & frasier.

Taxi was a fantastic late 70's/Early 80's sitcom set in a dingy
New York taxi-cab garage.A whole wealth of comedic talent cut their teeth on this show;Andy Kaufman,Carol Kane,Christopher Lloyd and of course,Danny Devito.
After what seems like a eternity Season 2 is here,but dispite the quality
of the show itself,this box-set is once again let down by the total lack of extras and a rather poor print transfer (sorry im not technically minded to describe the film process,suffice to say the picture quality is only slightly better than a VHS tape.) Compared to the transmission on Paramount Comedy Channel,this print seems quite rough.
Anyway, the show istelf is great and is a must for fans of Cheers and Frasier as the humour is simular.
4 stars,would have been 5 if not for the issues i raised earlier.
Lets hope the remaining seasons get a release now.

Taxi, to those unfamiliar with it, is witty comedy, done in good taste. Like its successor, Cheers, the comedy is light-hearted, feel-good and clever; ideal for unwinding at the end of a hard day.
This series is at least as good as the first series. The standard of episodes is generally consistent and I thought of giving five stars, but it has to be said that the odd episode here & there dips from the highest, but note that my standards are exacting.
One delightful improvement in series two is the inclusion of the Christopher Lloyd character as a regular member of the line-up. Many will remember him in his role as Doc in the Back to the Future films and here he plays a similarly eccentric, spaced out guy. He gets most of the best one-liners. Danny de Vito is the other main star turn, with his superb portrayal of the taxi-rank manager, Louis.
Looking forward to the release of series 3. Don't keep us waiting much longer!

Top comedy
Surely one of the best comedies ever from the US. Season 1 was excellent, this one is better. Buy it!

TV nostalgia but still on the button
