Product Description

Filled with in–depth insight and expert advice, Tax Havens Today arms you with the knowledge, strategies, and contacts needed to avoid expensive mistakes and make the most of your offshore endeavors. Divided into four comprehensive parts, this timely resource will bring you completely up to speed on a variety of issues that anyone aspiring to go offshore must be familiar with.

From the Inside Flap

Anyone interested in "going offshore" in terms of their finances and investments needs to understand every aspect of this process in order to succeed. No one knows this better than international tax haven and offshore financial specialist Hoyt Barber. Fifteen years have passed since Barber first published one of the most well–rounded guides to the financial benefits and pitfalls of going offshore. Since that time, much has changed, yet little has been done to help you navigate this attractive, but complex, environment—until now.

Using Tax Havens Today as your guide, you′ll learn how to:

  • Locate a diverse selection of offshore banking and investment options for any size investor as well as specific offshore tax planning and investment strategies
  • Reduce taxes, defer taxes, and invest tax–free, while simultaneously protecting your assets and planning your estate—all from offshore
  • Weigh the advantages and drawbacks of forty important tax havens
  • Use twelve proven criteria to make intelligent decisions on the best tax havens for your particular situation
  • Further pursue the exploration of tax–advantaged offshore retirement havens—and other countries with strong appeal to aspiring investors and expatriates

Tax Havens Today also contains over 500 contacts, including names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, e–mail addresses, and Web sites of the most important investment, banking, legal, and financial advisors in the world—all divided by tax haven or other jurisdiction—and a brief description of their areas of expertise.

While governments may have the right to collect taxes, you also have the right to protect your financial sovereignty. Written in a straightforward and accessible style, Tax Havens Today will help you find everything you need to get started on the road to legally reducing taxes, sheltering assets, increasing profits, and living a better life.

It is a great book, but it lacks precise info of how you can open yourself an offshore company. No information in regards to benefits and downside of any particular offshore zone.

Disappointing 22 May 2008
By TGR - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is unbelievably general, addressing topics in the most superficial manor. The book contains 324 pages; 111 of which are lists of names and addresses of banks and consultants around the world. The final 86 pages are essentially the entry requirements for travel to those countries. Only 127 pages contain sentences and paragraphs. Thirty of these pages are dedicated to berating the US government for everything under the sun, including the Iraq war. For useful information on international financial structures definitely look elsewhere.

Becareful with this Author 19 Aug 2007
By SMW - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The book is basically a plug for their financial service. I spent a lot of time corresponding with them and purchased one of their offshore banking packages. I had detailed my overseas residency situation and expressed concerns about their ability to match me with my desired banking product. They assured me that there would be no problems and if there were, I would get a full refund. Six months later, I have no Swiss bank account and no refund.

Excellent introductory reading 9 Jun 2010
By Ness - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is an excellent book for those new to the subject of offshore finance and investing. It offers a simple and comprehensive explanation of why people might look into the subject of going offshore, presents an overview of offshore jurisdictions today and talks about the legal aspect of offshoring. It also offers a very useful contact list of professionals who can provide additional answers to some of the issues discussed in this book. Very good book.
