Review

...a compendium of the progress and work of traditionalist Mo Coppoletta and his team of highly skilled artists. Each eye-catching page takes time to turn, heavy with glossy works of art glowing with finesse, a magnifying glass highlighting the talent of a few accomplished workers. Tattooed by The Family Business serves as a testament to the hard graft of traditionalist Mo Coppoletta, a true representation of the finesse surrounding The Family Business . --Reviewed by Julian von Nehammer for Disorder magazine, August 2010

A must read!! --Captured Ink, September 2010

Tattooed by The Family Business is a hymn to one of London s most famous tattoo parlours. The book s hundreds of seductive pictures drip with exotic ephemera of the tattooist s art, and pore-close detail of vibrantly coloured waves, fish, demons, snakes, birds, Virgin Marys - and especially strikingly - 1950s sci-fi film poster imagery. Confirmed blank canvasses may feel their resolution shaken. --Design Week, August 2010

Product Description

This is a tattoo book like no other. Filled with fantastic photography and beautifully designed Tattooed focusses on the work of Mo Coppoletta and The Family Business, based in London's Exmouth Market. Taking us through the creative and physical process of having a tattoo, this book is as much an inspirational design source as a peek into the private world of the tattoo parlour, its artists and clients. From the first traces to the finished design, the characters and equipment used, this book reflects the status of the tattoo as a truly twenty-first century art form.

I was this featured in the Metro a couple of weeks ago and it tempted me to go and have a look at the book. Absolutely stunning. the photography is sharp and dramatic and show off the tattoo designs beautifully. I thought it was as much about the design and detailsed artwork as it was about tattoos. Makes me want to take my first step into a tattoo parlour and see what all the fuss is about. Just fab...will be recommending to all my design art friends and colleagues.

The Family Business in Exmouth Market London is world famous for creating stylish and artistic tattoos. The parlour is decorated with the inspirations and artworks by owner Mo Coppoletta and at long last there is a book that justifies the brilliance of The Family Business. The photographs are just beautiful and it treats not only the artists and the artform, but also the clients with respect. Even if tattooing isn't your thing, this book is a wonder to look through and an inspiration.

I love this book, I really wanted it for christmas last year and my mum gave in and bought me a copy and I am so glad she did!
I love it and find the tracing paper pages of the drawings that are layed on top of the photos of the completed tattoos really interesting, its lovely to see how the designs come to life with shading.
