I bought this as a cover for a day sack and I'm really impressed with the quality but also the price considering the features. The fabric and closure is excellent quality. The stuff sack is attached so it doesn't get lost. There are ties to fasten it to rucksack meaning no chance of it being pulled off by branches and lost but also means I leave it tied (in the stuffsack) to the carry handle of my day sack ready for quick use in a downpour. The buffalo picture is reflective for night road walking....and I'm pretty sure if a motorist is driving along to see a buffalo in the road they'll give you a wide bearth....Ok only joking but it is a good refective feature.

This was also one of the only covers that did an extra small size....still a bit large for my tiny daysack but the cords fasten it on well and means it covers anything I strap to the pack if using it as an intermediate carry system.

Another plus was that they did green....when nature watching we don't all want to sport high visibility reds and yellows.

I have been so impressed with this that I looked at Tatonkas website, which was a brand I'd never heard of before and have now replaced some of my gear with items from them and what turns out to be their sister company, Tasmanian Tiger that makes military/police gear. All of which I've been really pleased with for quality of materials and features.

Excellent product!

It is a superb rain cover, excellent quality and looks the business! Great value for money! It serves its purpose well, keeps your bag and contents dry. I brought the extra small size and it fits perfectly for my 23L bag(extra small is for 20-30L bags). My only recommendation for Amazon is to add more detail to the listing ie. what is the litre capacity range for each cover size.

One satisfied customer.

Buy it. It is perfect. I got this for a an Osprey Talon 33 (because Osprey makes it extremely difficult to purchase a rain cover from them) and I was concerned it was going to be too big or not fit because of the pack's shoulder straps. Happily I was mistaken. First day out of the box it poured rain and all the contents of my pack were perfectly dry. The draw string pulls the cover up nicely to snuggly fit the pack. I looked at several before I bought this one and an so glad I took the chance to get this one. Money well spent as it has rained nearly every day I've commuted to work on my bike and it works extremely well. Buy it.

After ordering a second one of these I am very happy with it. You will have seen from other reviews that size is an issue!! If it is any help I ordered a small for my camelback and it drowned it, the small size i would suggest fits a camper rucksack, one of the big ones form blacks or something, after sending that back and going for the xs I found this has fitted fine, still big but plenty of room and great fastening to make it snug around the bag. For the money and the quality, perfect. For reference go small and work your way up!

Other reviwers have rightly noted the lack of detail from Amazon. I took a punt and plumped for 'XS', which it turns out is exactly the right size for my backpack (mine's a ubiquitous canvas 30L Jansport Trinity Daypack... the kind you see on students' and commuters' backs everywhere). As a rule of thumb, I'd say that for all standard backpacks/daysacks, XS will do the job - the larger sizes are designed for bona fide rucksacks for camping and the like. In fact, on the label attached to the cover it clearly states that Xtra Small = 20l-30l capacity packs - Amazon ought to state this alongside the product description. There's not much to it: an elasticated shell, with a toggle at the top and some ties, so will stretch a fair bit; you just drape it over the front of the bag and tighten. The whole thing folds down into a small pouch (the size of a tiny umberella) that I'll just keep in the bag at all times for when the heavens unexpectedly open. I only bought this for my morning walk to the train station becuase I was getting sick of my bag was letting the rain during heavy downpours; just need something to offer a bit of protection; no idea if this would do the job in sustained wet weather when out walking for hours on end, becuase it seems quite slight; but perfect for my purposes.

The one thing I failed to find online when looking at these was what size is appropriate for an N litre rucksack. The annoying thing is that when they arrive, it says so on the box. XS is for 20-30L rucksacks, Small are for 30-40L rucksacks.

Other than that, yeah it's a rucksack cover, it'll cover a rucksack.
