5.0 out of 5 stars Great Video! Highly Reccomended! 15 Aug 2011
Format:Hardcover
I absolutely loved this video and book. The whole process of tasting wine has always seemed mysterious and, frankly, too hard. After going on a wine tasting tour I decided that I needed some proper education. I found this video on Amazon and thought I would just give it a try since it's offered at such a great price. When the video arrived, the quality of the video exceeded my expectations tenfold! I was also extremely impressed with the book that came with it. It's all illustrated and it walked me through every step. The technique for tasting wine is actually simple, yet profound. For the first time I get what I'm supposed to be noticing. There is also a good strategy in there for how to train your nose in an easy way. I don't know that I'll put in all the time necessary to become a master, but at least now I don't feel like a dunce. What is interesting is that I find I am slowing down and enjoying wine more. Thank you so much for such a great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding 22 April 2010
By Ricardo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I found this to be a wonderfully informative explanation of the subtle art of wine tasting. The presenter clearly is an expert and I found his explanations to be clear and concise. Perhaps the best part was the detail with which he discussed techniques such as the proper way to hold the wine glass which I had never thought about before nor had it been explained to me before watching the video. Also, his down-to-Earth suggestions such as going to the grocery store to sample (?sniff) various fruits and spices in order to train one's sense of smell struck me as brilliant in that this could be done anytime and would make any later tastings more fruitful (excuse the pun). Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing tips from an expert 10 July 2010
By B. Kaufman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Tim Gaiser's approach to tasting is dead on. He's mindful, deliberate and methodical, which makes him a great taster but more importantly enables him to really enjoy the wine. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. I love his advice to practice smelling and tasting the 20 or so top aromas and flavors in wine, and I love his down-to-earth, non-snobby approach.

5.0 out of 5 stars The wine tasters Holy Grail 27 May 2010
By Ronal Leedy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
After watching this with a few friends, we went out tasting at the local wineries and was amazed by my own improvements in breaking down the wines. I have enjoyed wines for many years but this video helped me create my process for tasting wines. This will be something I can go back and refer to in the future many times.
