5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud funny.... 6 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I won't go into too much detail as Book Addict and Kelly Wootton have more or less said what I wanted.

The only thing that I'm going to add is how glad I am that I read this book. I had decided to stop reading Gena Showalter as the last couple of books seemed in my opionion, to be a little childish. I know she writes young adult/teenage stories aswell as adult and it seemed to me that she was starting to blend the two together. I'm talking mainly about her Lord of the Underworld series.

It was out of desperation that I fell back to the familiar and purchased this story and I have to say that this is one of the best I have read from her. The majority of the book had me laughing out loud and the chemistry between the two characters was great......

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Say something like that to her again, and your balls with take the same path as you and your underwear. Feel me?"
"Noelle, my love?" Ava Said in a sing-song voice, balancing her bag on the now vacant bed. " I think the person in question is female"
"Oh my bad, I'm so sorry" she told the girl in the same saccharine sweetness she'd used on the guys. Her hand flutterd up to her heart, baby bird delicate. "I thought you were a dude. It's the mustache. That'll fool me everytime"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
At no point was the kiss a gentle exploration. At all points, it was savage and hot and consuming, a reding of self, an unquenchable thirst. He wanted more, more, more, now, now, now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
My only criticism is for Hector, who I thought became a bit too whiney towards the end, it clashed with his macho *roar* 'I am man' *roar* attitude.
If like me, you have given up on Ms Showalter then I urge you to get out your oven gloves (your kindle/book might be too hot to handle ;) and give her another shot.
5.0 out of 5 stars "Alien Huntress" series book 6 27 Aug 2011
By Book Addict TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
The 6th "Alien Huntress" novel (discounting the short story found in anthology "Deep Kiss of Winter") is a great addition to this fast paced, gritty futuristic romance series. Leading lady Noelle Tremain (first introduced in previous book "Ecstasy in Darkness") lives up to her promise as she and seasoned agent Hector Dean participate in a somewhat unconventional courtship.
Initially set at the start of Noelle's training as an AIR agent, it takes a while for anyone but her best friend and fellow hell raiser Ava to see beyond her airhead heiress persona. Hector is also hiding his own secrets; living a lonely (and frustrated) existence, he is set to become far more frustrated (both emotionally and physically) as he tries to ignore his attraction to Noelle. Noelle of course has other ideas and if she has to do the chasing she will, but it'll be on her terms.
With plenty of action amid a passionate, argumentative and misunderstood actions filled romance, this is a typical "Alien Huntress" novel. Noelle proves to be big, bad, incredibly smart mouthed (some of her quips are hilarious) and bold with a marshmallow centre, whilst Hector is bigger, badder, bolder, and with a hidden weakness for a certain spoiled, but deliciously wicked pampered princess. The bedroom scenes are scorching (literally) and the tension racks up as AIR agents hunt for those responsible for the kidnap and sale of women, but there is still plenty of fun and comical moments (particularly between Noelle and Ava).
5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff 31 Aug 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Another great addition to the Alien huntress series last book we saw Eva this time her best bud noelle I love the friendship these two have the one liners make the book! Noelle is paired up with tough no nonsense sexy hector Dean and woa the sparks fly like all gs books this has great character back story's hectors is a sad tale of a tough brutal childhood and although noelle shows a rich spoilt tough girl to the world we get to see her soft side here I love this series I could read them forever I am a big gs fan and always buy the lords of the underworld books too but last couple I got a bit board with never the case with this series can't wait for Dallas to get his story such a long time coming but back to dtor we follow noelle and Hector as they hunt for the kidnappers of young girls and this leads to dare mias brother popping up loved that! Won't give too much away there don't be put of as the book starts with the training of Eva and noelle at air training camp I thought what's going on here but it soon gets up to speed the fact Hector can't touch noelle for fear of setting her and anything around them on fire doesn't spoil the hot chemistry with Hector and noelle loved this would recommend but would advise read in order with most series this included you will get more from them my fav bit has to be noelle flashing her boobs and then knocking Hector out gotta love that bit!
5.0 out of 5 stars Alien Huntress Novels: Dark Taste of Rapture 16 Sep 2011
By S. Wilson TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
Wow I have fought and fought to get hold of this book earlier than the original release date given of November! Several e-mails to Amazon themselves and the author Gena Showalter (who really helped out) and finally they found out the UK publisher had made a little mistake with the release date and that we in the UK should have had the book released to us at the same time as the US!
Well it was definitely worth the wait and the badgering of Gena and Amazon:) I have been eagerly awaiting Noelle's story since her and Ava were first introduced to the Alien Huntress series and this book has had me laughing out loud with Noelle's quick and witty ways. One of my favourite 'funnies' from the book being Noelle's ring tone "You better answer this, genius, or I'll kick your ass!" in Ava's voice. The delectable other half in this book is Hector Dean and we find out more about his super hot (literally) arms. Hector and Noelle find themselves paired together investigating otherworlders who are being traded on the black market slave trade. They need to find out who's doing the trading and bring a stop to it before more people are murdered and more girls sold for dirty means. Hector and Noelle can't resist each other but there is one or rather two burning hot issues they need to conquer if they can ever be together. Also some other favourite characters are back in this book such as Ava and McKell (will she let McKell turn her?) and Dallas (I hope his story is next he needs a bit of luck).
I loved this latest instalment and if you haven't read either the Alien Huntress series or any of Gena's books then I would definitely recommend them. Can't wait for the next!:)
I thought the Writhing style was very good but there wasn't enough funny bits in it. But I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
