Product Description

Brimming with fiery passion and intense chemistry, this riveting England set Victorian romance, featuring the heart pounding themes introduced in SINFUL SURRENDER, will cement Beverly Kendall s place as a rising talent in historical romance. Lady Amelia Bertram may have a reputation as the most brazen beauty of the ton, but she shocks even herself when she accidently and loudly derides one of society s most eligible bachelors in the middle of a crowded ballroom. The timing of her faux pas couldn t be worse, for her father is seeking someone to take her off his hands that very night. But when Thomas Armstrong overhears the so-called Lady Amelia slandering his sexual prowess in public, he cannot help but accept the dare implicit in her words. To her father s great delight, he offers to take her to his secluded country estate properly chaperoned, of course to teach the girl a lesson in ladylike behaviour.

Historical Romannce 10 Feb 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the first one read I have read of Beverley Kendall and it was very enjoyable read.

Amelia is a very strong willed young woman who loves to cause scandal but actually slating a man's bedroom techniques is definitely asking for trouble and Thomas gladly takes on the challenge to show her who is boss. This leads to very amusing interactions between the pair as Amelia tries to stand up for herself but she has met her match in Thomas and soon enough feelings come involved resulting in passion between the pair.

Amusing read with parts of passion to heat up the book.

Nice 3 Feb 2011

Since I read and reviewed the first book, I figured, I owed the second book one too. I was not disappointed. This book was a solid 4 1/2. The hero was a great alpha man and I actually felt sorry for Amelia. After my initial impression of her, she stopped being a bit of a brat.

I liked the touch with Amelia's father. The author did a great job with the dynamics of the hero's family. I hope she has a book for each sister. This book was high in sexual tension and it has some very hot and well done love scenes. I must say the hero's best friend was a scene stealer and lightened the tone of the book. I can't wait for Alex's book.

Didn't care for this at all 28 Jan 2011

I generally do not take the time to actually write a review, but in this case I felt compelled. The writing in the book itself was good, but the interaction between the hero and heroine as well as their character development was atrocious! Thomas was, in a word MEAN. Arrogant and mean, and besting our heroine at every turn. I would have loved to see Amelia 'win' a few of their skirmishes, but that was not the case. Thomas takes her virginity and then acts as though it were no big deal - in Victorian England, when she's the daughter of a not only a peer but a close friend his. What. A. Jerk. In the final scenes, Amelia came across (to me at least) as just plain pathetic, begging for Thomas' love. Which he witholds with cruel words until the very end. I don't recommend this book.

Delightful romance 20 Feb 2011
By K. Howard - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Oh, what a delightful romance! It started off a bit frivolous and shallow (I'm talking about you, Lady Amelia!), but that just added to the depth of the character and the story. Neither Amelia nor Thomas were the most likable of characters at the beginning, but I must say they both redeemed themselves and won my heart. What started out as a hate/hate relationship turned into such a deep emotional connection that I hated to see the book end. Will definitely read more from this author.
