Book Description

5 July 2012 Tarzan a Legend Reborn

When a baby gorilla is snatched from its family by the world's most infamous hunter, Tarzan will stop at nothing to track him down - crossing the wild jungle and hostile African savannah to bring him to justice.

Meanwhile, Jane is trying to learn more about Tarzan's past, and must decide whether reuniting him with his lost Greystoke family is the right thing to do. But Robbie has ideas of his own. He has formed a plan that will get rid of Tarzan for good, and keep the secrets of his own past safe.

Tarzan, The Jungle Warrior is a lion-roaring read that brings the classic story bang into the 21st century, and will publish at the start of the Tarzan centenary year.

Review

'The Andy Briggs reboot of Tarzan is one of the best updates I can recall seeing of any classic series ... A stunning ending which left me absolutely desperate to read book 3 ... one which young and old alike will love.' 4.5/5 stars --The Bookbag

'This is a exciting and fast-moving adventure, offering young readers plenty of thrills. Tarzan is a man of few words but much action and Jane is no wallflower, so this tale should appeal to both boys and girls.' --Booktrust

4.0 out of 5 stars Not just another reboot 29 April 2013

There is a almost constant stream of old classics being given a new look. This is one of them - but it works rather well. Tarzan has cargo pants on and is a fierce protector of his threatened jungle home. Jane is here the daughter of an illegal logger and the issues of life in the DRC are referenced but not laboured. It is a good read for an able reader - but be aware, there is a lot of violence here. Somehow what we routinely accept on screen, seems more visceral on paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant sequel to an amazing book 4 Dec 2012
By Thomas
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the first book and did just as much with this one. In this adrenaline-rushing story, the world's most famous hunter captures Karnath, a small gorilla friend of Tarzan. Tarzan, Robbie and Jane find themselves in a perilous rescue mission in a race against time to save young Karnath, even if it means introducing Tarzan to the city for the first time and taking the risks.

This book is, like the first one, full of heat-pounding, climactic action that makes you never take your eye off the page. The villains in this one are menacing and believable and make you wish that hunting for sport and money never existed.

I was hooked from the moment I read the first chapter of Tarzan: The Greystoke Legacy, as with this one and cannot wait for the third installment in the Andy Briggs Tarzan saga.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a jungle out there! 3 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Its great to have a Tarzan book back on the shelves but nevertheless disappointing that its supposed to be for kids. Neither is it the Tarzan we know from the Burroughs character created 100 years ago. how updated need jungle character be? Surely a jungle is a jungle despite the destruction Man inflicting upon the forests! Surely there are still animals still out there we have never seen and ruins of civilizations yet to be discovered. so this missive is a disappointment so is a good companion volume to the Tarzan book that disappointed last year!
