The USB Mobile Port Replicator is one of the smallest port replicators currently available, allowing easy connection of your notebook to peripheral devices at home, in the office, or on the road. A single USB connection to Me, XP as well as 98 and 2000 based computers, provides instant attachment to the accessories you use most: mice, keyboards, printers, PDA's, scanners, speakers, cameras, telephones, joysticks and other items. There is no need to turn off your computer to add or remove devices – you can simply plug and unplug them as needed.
The USB Mobile Port Replicator features a self-powered stand alone USB hub with two USB ports, a serial (DB9) port, a bi-directional printer (DB25) port, a mouse (PS/2) port, a keyboard (PS/2) port and a power connection as applicable for either the UK or Europe.

Perfect piece of kit,

This is ideal for laptop users and desktop users alike. I have one of these on my desk plugged into my desktop pc which is on the floor. This means that I dont have to keep crawling under my desk to unplug something or swap over a peripheral. It is plug and play under Windows XP - you dont need to install anything just plug it in. If you use it with a laptop it's just like a docking station - you have a ps2 keyboard socket, ps2 mouse socket, 9 pin serial socket, paralell printer port and 2 usb sockets. The lights on the unit show that everything is on and working ok. So far I havent had need to use the power supply as it runs quite happily being fed from the usb port. To sum up every laptop user should have one and if you're sick of crawling under your desk swapping plugs - every desktop user should have one too!

This device must have been designed for early versions of Windows. I have tried it but it does not work in either XP Home SP3 or Windows 7. The software supplied is dated 2002 but even the updated software Version 2.24 on the Targus Website does not work. I have abandoned the device. There must be another solution.

Just the Job,

What a great piece of kit, Bought it to run old HP laserjet (Parrallel) from Laptop with WIndows 7 with only USB, worked a treat. Tried it on old P3 731MHz PC running XP SP3 and although it took a while to discover (each port/the hub discovers seperately)it now works great with the wives favourite PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard too. The supplier did say compatability is touch and go and that I could send it back if it didn't work, but no need.
Have it permanently connected everything via this to my PC now, and when I need to print from Laptop(not bothering to wait for PC to build up steam) I just swap the USB lead over. Great!
