Product Description

Collection of five films written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. 'Reservoir Dogs' (1992) is set during the aftermath of a robbery which has gone violently wrong. Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth and Steve Buscemi are amongst the stars making up the team of robbers, Mr White, Mr Blonde, Mr Orange and Mr Pink, who meet at a warehouse after the failed heist and attempt to work out who is to blame. In 'Jackie Brown' (1997) air stewardess Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) smuggles money on the side for gunrunner Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). When she is caught with $50,000 and a consignment of cocaine, she makes a deal with Ordell: if convicted, she will not shop him as long as he pays her $100,000. Meanwhile Jackie also makes a deal with the cops, promising to help convict Ordell, and enlists the help of bail bond man Max Cherry (Robert Forster) in a daring attempt to outwit both the police and Ordell. 'Pulp Fiction' (1994) melds three dime-store stories set in lowlife LA into one cohesive thriller. Butch (Bruce Willis) is an over-the-hill boxer paid to take a fall, who instead does a runner with mobster Merselius (Ving Rhames)'s money. Meanwhile, Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winfield (Jackson) are two hitmen who aren't having the easiest of mornings, and Pumpkin and Honey Bunny (Roth and Amanda Plummer) are two would-be bank robbers who are planning a heist in a restaurant. In 'Kill Bill: Volume 1' (2003), Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, one-fifth of a team of assassins called DiVAS. When she decides to get married and leave the outfit her boss, Bill (David Carradine), is not a happy man and gets her former colleagues to show up at the wedding; leaving behind a blood bath and The Bride shot in the head. Four years later, The Bride sets out on a journey of revenge. In 'Kill Bill: Volume 2' (2004), having dispensed with some of her former colleagues, The Bride (Thurman) resumes her quest for justice. She now has two remaining foes on her 'Death List', Budd (Madsen) and Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) - before she moves on to her ultimate goal - to kill Bill (Carradine).

5.0 out of 5 stars No words necessary. 19 May 2009

If you have navigated to this page I do not need to tell you how incredible each of these films is.

I would just like to point out that on the box it says "6 disk edition".

In fact there are 7 disks! The Resevoir Dogs DVD is also a special 2 disk edition. They must have made that decision after the packaging was printed.

I was pleasantly surprised Madam.

All in all, this item is worth your money, and the only grudge I hold against the description, or maybe I should say the people who wrote the specifics about this product is that "Pulp Fiction" does not contain any of the special features listed. It does not contain any special features at all! So, if you're looking for this kind of thing i suggest you buy the movies separate. All in all, I am satisfied.

I bought this box set a couple years ago in HMV for around the price displayed (around 20 quid), and definitely consider it money well spent. Obviously it is no longer a complete collection, since the release of "Inglorious Basterds", but what is included are must haves for any Tarantino fan. Special/bonus features are a little unevenly spread about, with "Reservoir Dogs" and "Jackie Brown" both having an extra disc of the usual making ofs and featurettes, while, as the negative reviews mention, the "Pulp Fiction" disc is a barebones affair, which is disappointing. Nonetheless, all films included are entertaining and in great condition, and are films that I have rewatched and will rewatch again and again.
