If you can imagine all these artists singing their own versions of Carole King's fantastic "Tapestry", you won't be surprised. Every singer or group remains true to their style while interpreting King's greatest album. Yet, all the songs remain as fresh as the day King recorded them.

Rod Stewart got the most airplay with his version of "So Far Away" and it is well deserved. The Bee Gees do a wonderfully spiritual (if slightly over-produced) version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" Celine Dion succeeds admirably with "Natural Woman" and the Manhattan Transfer still have their touch with "Smackwater Jack", a lively, bouncy, finger clicking rendition.

The booklet is full of great notes, photos and lyrics. It may not be a jewel box, but is still an original in all repsects.

One of the best albums of the '70s, redone by some of the best talents in the business. It's pretty darn hard to improve on a classic, but Rod Stewart, Aretha Franklin, Amy Grant, Richard Marx, Celine Dion, the Bee Gees and Bebe and Cece Winans, among others certainly give it their best shot.

Rod Stewart singing "So Far Away" is a classic by itself, but also look for Richard Marx' version of "Beautiful"; Bebe and Cece Winans (with Aretha Franklin) putting a world of soul into "You've Got A Friend"; Faith Hill's "Where You Lead" and the Bee Gees' "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?". The Manhattan Transfer also perform a great "Smackwater Jack".

Not quite the original, but a very reasonable facsimile thereof

I thought that no-one could ever cover Carole King's songs and do them justice, then I heard 'Tapestry Revisited.' The artists on the CD have made the recordings original and unique, but King's melodic tunes and distinctive style is still fantastically recognisable. My favoutrite track from 'Tapestry' was 'Smackwater Jack,' but when I heard 'Tapestry Revisited' I decided that my favourite track on that CD was Faith Hill's 'Where you lead.' I think the CD is easy listening and good to have on in the background. Even if you've never previously enjoyed the music of Carole King this collection is refreshing and likely to change your mind on the music. I think you really need to listen to this CD for yourself, so buy it now, you'll only wish you'd bought it sooner!!!
