5.0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Contentment, 9 April 2002
By F. Williams - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Tao of Contentment (Paperback)
John O'Dwyer and I have been close friends for most of our lives. I have personally witnessed him transform from early-childhood victim to survivor to content human being. Later, we roomed and worked together in South Korea--first as language teachers and then as writer/editors for a spiritual movement. A creature of self-discipline, John wrote The Tao of Contentment in the evenings, spending much of his free time with his teapot, Taoist writings, and his notebook computer--he chose to own little. Never once did I see him stress or complain over creating this book. Why? Because he did it for and from his own contentment.

In The Tao of Contentment, John shares the path he has taken on the journey within. He does not prescribe this path to others. Instead, he tells a traveler's tale of truth and wisdom. So pull up a chair. Hold up your cup. The teapot is full.

5.0 out of 5 stars A description of The Tao of Contentment, 3 April 2002

This review is from: The Tao of Contentment (Paperback)
For John O'Dwyer, author of The Tao of Contentment, life has been a constant search for meaning. Though he looked in many places and to many people, he found little understanding about life until he looked within himself. In his book, John shares his insights into life, insights influenced by Chinese philosophical Taoism. He presents readers with his pathway to contentment. For him, contentment is a central goal of life. It is only when we are content that we can find real meaning and purpose in our lives.

Through brief thoughtful chapters, The Tao of Contentment provokes readers to think for themselves and to discover their own paths in life.

Enormously positive and life affirming, this book presents a way of life where compassion and understanding must become more important aspects of everyone's life.

A wonderfully insightful book, I will read it again and again. It reveals a deep understanding of life and the way to become a content person. This book is very quotable and really made me think about my life. I loved it!
