5.0 out of 5 stars Tanamera: Lion of Sinagapore, 13 May 2004
By Rod Guinto (Philippines) - See all my reviews
A tale of forbidden love set against the backdrop of pre-WW2 Singapore. The star-crossed lovers are of different races (English and Chinese) and come from rival business clans. What I found so engaging in this mini-series is the how the two lovers battle with their respective social and cultural differences against a love which refused to be extinguished by time and circumstance. The mini-series excellently portrays the conflict of how both races have their own prejudices against the other as their fortune is enthwined with the future of Singapore.
