4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little accessory 11 April 2010

I like to travel with a tripod when doing photographic work but cant always carry a large carbonite tripod on planes. I bought this and whilst it is lightweight it has gotten me out of a few fixes. Easy to put up, easy to put away and as long as your camera isn't too heavy i.e. my Nikon D3 is but my Nikon D90 and P600 are great for the tripod, than this is a cheap accessory which you should have, Are there any downsides? yes. Its just one height, i.e full height you cannot just have it half erected so close -up ground shots are a no-no.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for trip 27 Jan 2011
This tripod is extremely light and perfect for traveling.
It takes only 10 seconds to set it up with an amazing action.
The problems are the strength of the legs and that the head of the tripod is fixed and you can't change it.
However, if you use recent (light) DSLR and a short lens for travel uses it shouldn't be a problem.
if you want a stable tripod this is not the best choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars VERY USEFUL PRODUCT 26 April 2011
    By SG
First saw this reviewed on "This week in photo" a photography podcast from the US hosted by Frederick Van Johnson. Sent off for one straight away. I have used it several times and its really usefull!.
Once you take the two straps off and let go of the pieces, they all snap into place as if by magic! No good for serious photography / or heavy lenses / long time exposures.
But for a quick timer release photo of you and the family - it can't be beaten! Light weight, and fits inside your pocket. A decent ball joint on the top - but be aware there are no hight adjustments, and the length of the legs is not adjustable.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's OK for what it is!
Extremely light and small, works well with smaller cameras (I use it with a Sony RX100). Wind can rattle it, so you have to be careful, but this is to be expected with such a light... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for compacts
I bought this hoping it would hold my (relatively light) DSLR, but it is not strong enough for that. It would be good to hold a small compact camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good at the Price
I have seen adverts for this at around £50.00 which is grossly overpriced. At less than £20.00 on Amazon it is a potentially useful piece of kit. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for holidays
I bought this to take on holiday. It is certainly flimsy and struggles with a heavy lens. The ball head tended to 'droop' after I'd set up and tightened it well. Read more
