Product Description

Product Description

This rolling case conveniently provides protection and fast access to two pro DSLRs with lenses attached, 4-6 additional lenses, accessories and a laptop, and is carry-on compatible. A separate, foam-padded outer pocket holds most 17.3" screen laptops up to 16¾” x 12½” x 1¼” in size. The ballistic nylon outer shell and rigid, plastic-armoured walls make this an extremely tough and protective case. Internal adjustable, foam-padded dividers can be arranged to fit a wide variety of photographic equipment. Windowpane-Mesh pockets inside the lid organize small, vital accessories like memory cards, batteries, and filters.  The industrial-strength telescoping handle locks open or closed with the push of a button while the big wheels provide a smooth, stable ride. Tamrac’s Modular Accessory System (M.A.S.) attachment slots allow complete customization with Tamrac’s optional M.A.S. accessories.

I have been trying to find a solution to carrying my DSLR kit consisting of body, 5 lenses, flash, tripod etc, as I can no longer can carry all or part of the kit in a backpack photo bag. Also when travelling on a plane, bus or train, as being an easy way to get to an assignment without breaking ones back, again. I also found this Speed Roller an excellent secure, safe bag to store the kit.

When I received it I was astonished how heavy it was to start with, but that is due to the very sturdy construction of this case. The cover opens sideways giving total access to the kit, which are placed in the bag which is divided by a centre bar ( I am certain made of metal ) and heavily padded and covered in a soft thick cloth to protect the kit. The row is then divided by moveabl divided ears, again well padded and secured with decor fasteners. One gets quite a few fasteners. The case is constructed like a safe, so will take some of the hard shunting that it maybe subjected too when travelling.

I could get all my kit in very securely bar my 36" tri-pod although the picture shows the case with a tripod attached. There are lugs to attach some kind of cord, but I can not see how it will stay attached tightly with swinging back and forth. The length of the inside lid has two large pockets for cleaning cloths, brushes, batteries eats. On the outside, is another deep pocket for other photography stuff or travel docs etc.

Overall this is a very well constructed case but one has to give up light weight. I feel the competitors are lighter, but are they this well constructed.

Tamrac Big Wheel Roller Bag 5592 6 Sept. 2011
By fosterleighton - Published on Amazon.com
I just shelled out for this bag. I think it is the most well made thing I've ever seen. It has great padding. Everything inside is customizable with velcro etc. The handle is retractible and the wheels are serious equipment. It has 2 skid bars on the back to drag it up steps. It'll fit in the smallest "carry-on" "test box" at the airport. It has every other ammenity that you can hope for. I fit a short video slider, a Glidecam HD2000, a mini tripod, 2 DSLRs, a pile of zooms, batteries, hard drive, memory, and more in the big compartment and a tripod on the back. I put my fluid head, Zacuto, and lights in a small shoulder bag as my personal item and packed a larger tripod in w/ my clothes. If the clothing suit case is lost, I still have my small one in the Tamrac!
I can strap the big tripod on the back of the Tamrac, and even bungie my suitcase on top of it for shlepping around. When you get to you destination, take the hardware out of the middle of it and use that space for the stuff in your small shoulder bag, etc. Get creative. It might be costly, but so is that 10 grand of stuff you're putting in it. The day the attendant says "Sir you must let us stow it in cargo; I'm sure it'll be fine", you'll forget all about the $400.00 or so that you paid for it. Peace of mind is priceless.

Great travel case 6 July 2012

I got this and can stuff it with my 24-135mm, 24-70mm, 50mm, 70-200mm, 300mm and an extender plus two camera bodies and a flash, batteries, and just about everything else I would want to carry. It makes getting through airports a breeze with the rollers and is small enough to fit in the overhead compartment. Tamrac makes some quality stuff and you will pay a price for it but when I consider I am carrying $20K+ worth of gear that investment seems well worth it.
Fit in overhead and held two Nikon bodies with lenses ... 11 July 2014

Fit in overhead and held two Nikon bodies with lenses, a long Sigma 500 mm zoom lens, and lots more. Heavy once full....but worth it.
Love it, but don't turn sharply 27 Jan. 2015

This must have a narrow wheel base to fit in overhead bins, so it's prone to flip over if you're wheeling it and turn sharply, but it absolutely protects your gear. It's heavy, but I love it.

Too heavy when loaded 15 July 2012
By Gerald W. Stump - Published on Amazon.com

This bag needs wheels. When loaded with cameras, lenses, and other sundries, the case is too difficult to lug around. Otherwise an excellent case. I call it my car case because that's where it'll be on trips. When on the job I shift items to a smaller case with a shoulder strap.
