Product Description

Product Description

The Digital Zoom Pack was specifically designed for digital cameras with large built-in zoom lenses (like Nikon's Coolpix 5700, Minolta's DiMage five and seven and Fuji's S602) and high-end point-and-shoot digital cameras (like Canon's G3, Nikon's Coolpix 5000 and Olympus C-5050) with an accessory lens attached. It uses Dual Foam Technology that combines closed-cell foam to provide maximum shock protection with open-cell foam for vibration dampening and a custom fit.

A full-coverage top provides excellent protection by combining our easy squeeze buckle for quick access with a zipper for back-up security and weather protection. The front accessory pocket has universal memory and battery pocket inside to secure various types of memory cards and batteries. A special fitted pocket holds extra memory cards. In addition to the easygrip carrying handle, the Digital Zoom Pack has an adjustable, removable shoulder strap and belt loop to carry it hands-free on a belt.

Wanted a compact protective bag to house my camera with favourite lens attached for when casually trekking about, without the burden of a fully loaded kit bag.

Had a good look at several DSLR type bags on the high street such as Lowepro, Jessops "own brand", samsonite etc. Internal measurements for these bags always seemed out of proportion and left huge gaps on the width of my camera. I have a Pentax K200d, most commonly attached with a Tamron 18-250mm zoom lens. It's a very typical size for an entry level type DSLR like the Canon eos 400D and Nikon D40. The dimensions of my camera are; camera body 5" wide, height 4" and the length (with lens) is 6" (Lens is 3.5" on it's own) This bag fits great, easy access but very snug.

Other comments - Construction is well padded and sturdy. It has an easy access clip for fast retrieval of camera as well as a full zip to give security and weather protection when needed. (Few of the other brands offered both zip and clips for the price) Grip on top handle is an excellent rubberized mesh material and the carrying strap is adjustable with metal clips. All seems very well stitched together. There is a useful little zipped front pocket for batteries / spare memory cards without making the form of the bag bigger than it needs to be.

I haven't seen any UK high street shop with this make of bag so this purchase was a bit of a punt, a punt that has paid off nicely. High street has definately missed a trick here.

Perfect for Fujifilm X-E1 22 Dec. 2012
By coastcruiser - Published on Amazon.com
I spent over an hour in my local camera store trying my camera in different cases, and this is the one I left with. It's a perfect fit for the Fujifilm X-E1 with 18-55 mm kit zoom lens attached, including lens hood. Nicely padded, no more bag than you need, good quality.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that there's a zippered compartment on the underside of the top, which is designed to hold lens cloths. Although there's a flap of material covering the zipper, when the zipper is fully closed the metal pull tab isn't completely covered by the material. The camera is down far enough in the case that I don't think this piece of metal would ever contact the camera's LCD, but I'm not sure. I wish it had a plain soft underside instead of a zippered compartment, because you could stick a lens cloth anywhere and I don't think this compartment is necessary. I'm very protective of expensive electronics, so just for my piece of mind I put a piece of soft material on top of the camera before I zip the top of the case closed, so there's soft padding between the LCD and the zipper.

Fits Nikon D90 + 18-105mm lens 25 Mar. 2010
By Tom in NJ - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase
This bag does exactly what I want it to do. It just barely fits my Nikon D90 w/18-105mm lens, with just enough room for the kit strap inside the case. I bought it to hold the D90 with the 35mm prime lens when I don't want to carry a bigger bag. With the 18-105, I'll have to be a bit more careful, since I can feel it against the bottom of the bag, but there's a bit of space between the 35mm and the bottom. Any "entry level" DSLR should fit without problem with a small zoom lens. The D90 would not fit with anything bigger, such as the 18-200mm zoom. The Tamrac 5683 is better padded than the Lowepro Rezo TLZ 10, but only slightly larger. It's a great walkaround camera case. I rated only four stars because I haven't used it, but hope to provide an update.

Does everything advertised. 22 Sept. 2009

Has a separate zip and clip opening top, which makes for rapid use without zipping, with a flap to keep the rain out, and is very well made.

Perfect Fit for Lumix FZ35 8 Jun. 2010
By Adam J. Brown - Published on Amazon.com
I recently purchased the Lumix FZ35, and this bag fits like a glove with or without the lens-hood attached. Since the FZ35 is primarily a fixed lens camera, there is room to carry all of the necessary accessories in this bag; extra battery, SD card, filters, and cloth. I am not familiar with the conversion lenses for the FZ35 or the adapter, but judging from the pictures that I have seen, there is enough room in the pockets for the lens adapter, and the close-up lens; there is not enough room for the telephoto lens AND the lens-hood.

Pros
Shoulder strap, handle, and belt loops for multiple carrying option.
Water resistant.
Perfect size for the Lumix FZ35, and the necessary accessories.
Quality build.

Cons
None that I can see...one could argue that it's space is limited, but this case was not intended for cameras that need a lot of space.

Fits my T2i with Tamron 18-270 perfectly 11 Dec. 2011
By Jeep-PS - Published on Amazon.com
The 5683 fits my Canon Rebel T2i with the Tamron 18-270mm lens (62mm diameter piezo drive version). I have the canon strap on it, and I can fold the strap into the case and zip it closed. It's a good, solid feeling fit with or without the strap inside the pouch. Their website says it fit's a rebel with a 3.5" lens, but my Tamron is a 4" lens and it fits perfectly.

I like this case because I can leave the camera's strap hanging out the sides and close the buckle, then use the camera's strap to carry the whole thing around. I can leave the strap around my neck, then unbuckle and lose the case quickly when it's time for a shot

Also fits a spare battery and the shutter remote in the front pocket.

Seems very well built. The zippers are smooth and the nylon casing is high quality. It's well padded. A little more expensive than the other holsters out there, but I think it's worth it.

It's a very compact case which is another main reason I bought it. Going to stick it in the wife's big purse when we're out and about on vacation. We did a test fit, and I was surprised, it actually looks small in there!
