Product Description

Come back to a time when manners are everything and rules are made to never be broken. Come back to a time when men are in charge and women do what they are told. . .
Yeah, that never happened.
Welcome to Megan Bryce's Regencyland, where ladies with backbone get what they want. Where a woman can thumb her nose at rules and care little for convention, and yet somehow, unexpectedly and most reluctantly, find love.

To Tame A Dragon

Lady Amelia Delaney is known for her sharp tongue, no-nonsense attitude, and sizable fortune. Numerous suitors have tried to win her hand for the money, for the challenge, and for a rather unfortunate bet. She knows the unflattering reasons behind her numerous proposals– can she ever accept that a man would want to marry her just for herself?

Jameson Pendrake is a devil-may-care dandy who cares for naught but fun and fashion. But behind his laughing green eyes lies a dark history, and he calls off his wedding because of his fear of repeating the past. He can not simply give up on the idea of marriage– a wife is the best defense against the yearly crop of scheming mothers and their frilly daughters. But to allay his fears he needs a woman strong enough to laugh in the face of his past. A woman unflappable, unwavering, and unbroken. He knows just the woman. The trick, it seems, is in getting her to accept.

3.0 out of 5 stars Still haven't finished it. 14 Jan 2013

I might but I doubt it. It doesn't grab my interest. The language was very comtemporary. I don't expect the author to write like a 18th century writer but even so. Not my cup of tea.

1.0 out of 5 stars Confusing 12 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well I made it to about page 3 of this book before I deleted it from my Kindle. I found the writing style poor and was confused as to who was who and who was saying what to whom!

I am also assuming that due to the characters having titles like "Earl" that the book was supposed to be set in Britain (please forgive me if I'm wrong). However there was no British feel to what was written. And then I encountered the word "pants" for "trousers". Sorry, but that for me was the final straw...

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun 20 Dec 2012

I found this fun to read, right from the start. This is a sweet romance, not a very long novel; but I thoroughly enjoyed the sparring and bantering between the hero and heroine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Something.g was missing 10 Oct 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found this book lacking. The hero called the heroine my dear all the way through the book as if he were her elderly uncle, and their was no passion whatsoever. The writer tried to at times be witty but failed, and there was no storyline, it just plodded along. I almost gave up half way through but continued then wished I hadn't bothered. I am being generous with 3 stars

4.0 out of 5 stars Light-hearted escapism. 24 Oct 2014
By jessie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Despite the Americanisms scattered throughout this book, including the American spelling (something which normally really, REALLY annoys me), I found myself enjoying it from cover to cover. The heroine was both believable and likable, and the male lead was oddly endearing. As a light-hearted, relatively short piece of escapism (without the now expected steamy sex scenes) I give it 4/5.

4.0 out of 5 stars A keeper
All the better for not being a traditional tale, and distinctly non-standard-issue H & h. Short, but very funny and extremely satisfying.
