Purchased this set of musical instruments for 19 month old grandson - he is having great fun with it. I was given strict instructions not to buy a drum but the tamborine is strong enough that it doubles up as just that.

We bought these for our daughter as she is showing promise as a budding young musician (i.e likes banging about and making a lot of noise). She really enjoys playing with the instruments and we like seeing her have fun with them (although they should perhaps be supplied with ear plugs included). However despite being good fun, the finish quality was not that great on several of the items:
Cymbals - don't really make much of a noise, just a dull boshing noise really, not a crash like real cymbals. Also the paint was peeling off in places when they arrived and no doubt will get worse.
The tambourine is badly finished, the skin is not stuck down very well at the edges and is peeling off a bit already
The box - not sure if this is intended just as packaging or as a storage box? If the latter, then the finish is very poor - there are lots of splinters coming off on the edges
Xylophone - has notes written on each of the keys, but seems to be completely out of tune and not even in order going higher/lower - very weird
Overall we think the problems are not sufficient to return the items but thought that we should make you aware of the poor quality finish on a few of the instruments.

This music kit is so fantastic I cannot rate it high enough. For a kids toy its really good quality, really well made, very colourful and will last for years.
