Product Description

Review

'The beauty of Tamasin's book is that it helps the reader to rediscover weekend cooking with food that is a pleasure, not a pain, to prepare.' (SAINSBURY'S MAGAZINE )

'At the weekend, you might want simple, fabulous food that doesn't mean you will be in the kitchen all the time. You may have to cook for a crowd at short notice, or you may hanker after something more sophisticated you can prepare in advance. In her new book food writer Tamasin Day-Lewis covers every eventuality. If you need to rediscover the pleasures of weekend cooking, this is the book for you.' (FOOD & TRAVEL )

Disappointing 14 May 2004
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Fans of Tamasin will welcome this book as an addition to their collection but should be warned that quite a few of the recipies (and photgraphs)were in her previous book, Good Tempered Food. The recipies are good ones, it's true, and I'd probably still have bought the book but I'd have felt less cheated if I'd been told about the repeats prior to my purchase.

Sooo disappointing!! 19 Jun 2004
Format:Hardcover
Like the other reviewers, I too had eagerly awaited, nay lusted after the release of this book. I even ordered it on its release date and lay in wait for the postman! I was therefore, sooo disappointed when I realised that many of the recipes are rehashes of older stuff, albeit tweaked and changed a little. This major Tamasin fan feels more than a bit cheated at the moment, and when her next book comes out, I shall be having a sneaky read of it in my nearest bookshop before placing an order. Boo-hoo.

What a shame !! 3 Jun 2004
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I too was really looking forward to Tamasin's new literary offering as I am a huge fan of her writing and television series. Upon receipt, however, of her latest book, I also feel slightly cheated as it seems that she has merely done a re-hash of many of her existing recipes featured in previous books and has produced very little in the way of new ideas. I can only assume that she produced this book to fulfil a contract with her publishers which, whilst it is great for her, does very little to her loyal fans who were really looking forward to having a new masterpiece to treasure !!.
