5.0 out of 5 stars Talking Snooker Fred Davis 11 April 2011
Part 1 is interesting meandering on the game, its progression and the top players to 1979 when the book was first printed. Part 2 reveals the many psychological aspects to the game which will be immediately recognisable to the average club player and is written with refreshing humour and brevity plus confidence building tips and an insight into some of the less understood rules. On a winter evening with a glass of wine I found this a really nice little read, and for a very modest price. Now looking forward to his instuctional book proper(just ordered).Happy cueing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Talking Snooker by Fred Davis 12 Oct 2008
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Fred takes you through the transitionary period from Billiards as the main game to Snooker as it was in 1979 and tells you briefly about the old characters and the new characters of these 2 sports and of course his own journey. The second half of the book is devoted to technique and the differences between club players, good amateurs and professionals. This is a worthwhile read and has helped me to cure some fundamental erros in my own technique.
