Format: Paperback
The strategies and methods suggested are brilliant for getting students to really learn the 'tune' of the text. They familiarise themselves with patterns and words specific to the text types so that when they come to write their own they have a method for doing that. The strategies really help with retaining information too so helping students to recite facts on a topic for example. Although staff might be a little dubious about using actions they will see the impact quite quickly. Students love being active and involved in the text too.

Although I am a primary school teacher I had to purchase this resource. We have fully embedded the Talk for Writing approach in our school and the range of examples in this book can easily be applied in the primary setting. This practical guide takes you through the whole process with excellent examples. It is a practical book and the DVD to support is brilliant.
