On the side, Earl Daws has quit his job as homicide detective for the Detroit police and has gotten his private investigator’s license then convinces Jim to let him join Jim's firm. Jim agrees and sends Earl on a case of a missing wife. Did the husband do away with her and is asking for help to cover the crime, that’s for Earl to find out. About the Author

Detroit area resident, Bob Moats, has been writing short stories and plays for as long as he can remember. He has lost most of his original stories, typed or handwritten, in the numerous moves he has made from his hometown of Fraser, Michigan to Northern Michigan, to Las Vegas and back to Fraser, where he now lives. Moats became one of the causalities of unemployment in 2009, and had time on his hands to finally pursue a life long dream of writing a full blown crime novel. Thus was born the first book, "Classmate Murders". What followed was a series of books starting with "The Classmate Murders" which introduces the main character, Jim Richards, who has to admit he has become a senior citizen, reluctantly. Richards, one day, receives an email from a childhood sweetheart asking for his help, but by the time he reaches her, she has been murdered. His life turns around and he is pulled into numerous murders of women from his high school who he hasn't seen in forty years. Along with a friend of his, Buck, a big, mustached biker, they go off to track down the killer before he can get to one former classmate, Penny Wickens, a TV talk show host who Jim has just fallen for while protecting her. The killer is also murdering the women right out from under police protection, driving homicide detective Will Trapper crazy, and he slowly depends on Jim to help. There's humor, suspense, wild chases across suburban Detroit with cops, classic cars and motorcycle clubs; murder, mayhem, a good amount of romance and a twist ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Superb Story in the Murder Series 29 Dec. 2011
By RJ Parker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Talk Show Murders by Bob Moats is the 10th book in his famous `Murder Series'. In this book, a serial killer is murdering the guests on Penny's talk show and dictating to the network who the guests should be. Besides this story, there is another one happening at the same time. Earl Daws retired from the police force and joined up with Jim in the private investigating business. Earl is hired by a man to find his missing wife, only Earl has his suspicions on why she is missing. This book is action packed, full of suspense and a flavor of Moat's usual humor added to the mix. Once again, a well-written book with delightful characters and another superb story by this talented author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book 10 Aug. 2013
By Richard Paulson - Published on Amazon.com

I have enjoyed all of Bob Moats books. I am on the 17th one now. If you are just starting on his books, make sure you start on the first one (The Classmate Murders) because he refers to previous events and refers to the same characters, and you need to know where they came from. I strongly recommend his whole series.
