I bought this disc to compliment my Japanese lessons (of which I am in my second year). The disc contains many video clips, which is what I wanted. However there are a couple of problems which I believe to be pretty major. These are:
1. There are so many spelling mistakes, which means that you may learn words incorrectly (so people might not understand what you are saying). For example a phrase which appears under the greeting section of the disc is "Okagemasa de genki desu"- which should be "Okagesama de genki desu". Although the people on the disc say the phrases correctly, when you read the phrase along with the speech it is quite easy to think you have misheard something.
2. In places where katakana should be used hiragana is used instead (e.g. "bebi fuudo"). This is not such a major mistake, but it is definitely incorrect, and if you want to use the disc to practice your kana it is no good. Having said that though, the spelling mistakes which appear in the romanji do not appear in the kana (but it is still frustrating checking between the two to find out what the correct phrase is).
Overall I think this is a very poor product, just because it will teach you things that aren't correct. There may be other mistakes that I have not spotted as well, because my Japanese is not good enough to recognise them.
