As per usual Roald and the gang (although not Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected anymore) come up with the goods. The idea is not to get your expectations up to high with this or any of the series as they are usually wobbly set type episodes, but despite that, hold a real magic for me. I love tales with a twist and having to think about what might happen next and although some are fairly obvious you do get the occasional one that baffles right to the very end.
The Eavesdropper is a good one here, and without giving the game away to prospective buyers, is one worth watching if you like the "woman scorned" type of story.
Toyah Willcox as Blue Marigold didn't really hit the spot for me, I found the story dull and I was expecting to see Rik Mayall or Adrian Edmondson pop up at some stage to liven things up, alas they didn't...
The Moles with a quality cast, Fulton Mackay, Bill Owen and Harry H Corbett trying to get some much needed cash, with a great ending...
I found the Decoy a little scary and maybe a little contraversial in todays' high crime climate. However, a good story, well written.
The last one to receive my praise is A Harmless Vanity, less wobbly sets and more outdoor acting with a fantastic ending.
Overall, a mixed bag of episodes, some good, some really good, some poor - heck, it's Tales of the Unexpected.....
