Product Description

Patricia Lynch brings to this selection of classic Irish folktales for young people all the imagination and warmth for which she is renowned. There are seven stories here: Midir and Etain, The Quest of the Sons of Turenn, The Swan Children, Deirdre and the Sons of Usna, Labra the Mariner, Cuchulain The Champion of Ireland and The Voyage of Maeldun. They lose none of their original appeal in the re-telling and are as delightful today as when they were first told. The stories are greatly enhanced by the immediacy and strength of Frances Bolands imaginative drawings.

Highly recommended for public library children's collections, or as the perfect St. Patrick's Day gift! 25 Jan 2011
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
In Tales of Irish Enchantment, prolific Irish writer Patricia Lynch adapted six classic legends for young reader. Each story is fairly lengthy - a small epic in its own right - and brought to life with Sara Baker's colorful and slightly cartoony illustrations on virtually every other page. From the heroic exploits of Cuchulain, to fables about the Kingdom of the Dwarves, Tales of Irish Enchantment is filled with wonder from cover to cover. Highly recommended for public library children's collections, or as the perfect St. Patrick's Day gift!
