Darkly Humorous 12 Nov 2013

While the fictional stories found within "Tales from the Sea" are too short to share here, the common theme/element seemed to somehow always return to those dead bodies.

In my reading of the "Tales from the Sea," I did find that Flint is a good writer. He pays attention to detail and his characters are believable although, at times, the plot winds up becoming rather improbable. Of course, that is usually one of the marks of a fictional story.

Received book free of charge from author for review.

A great addition to your summer reading list 6 May 2013

A fun and twisted read! Another reviewer said "Love Boat meets Twilight Zone". I would also say there is a dash of Alfred Hitchcock as well. I enjoyed every tale, from clever and funny to sad and soulful. The only problem was that I wanted to savor the stories, but at the end of each one, I kept saying, "just one more..."

entertaining reading 18 April 2013
By Stephen R. Zimmermann - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I have just finished "Tales from the Sea" an eclectic mixture of short stories by Alex Flint . The stories contain a quirky and unique mixture of topics, ranging from cryogenics to a mafioso/politician son , to a gold digger, to war heroes, to Viagara cocktails to patricide to trans-gender modification and weaved together cleverly by the author with the one common thread, that they were on the same cruise ship together, the Millenium World Cruise on board the Queen Elizabeth 2 in January 2000. The stories are masterly crafted and are at once humorous ,enlightening, funny, sad and always leaves you wanting more. To those of us of a certain generation , it reads like : "The Love Boat meets Twilight Zone" The book is a fun read and can easily be consumed in one or two sittings {150 pages} , but i recommend savoring each and every tale with leisure and enjoyment. steve zimmermann.....stevez38
