This DVD costs far more than the other two in the Beatrix Potter series, Peter Rabbit and Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, if you want Region 2, which we use in the UK and Europe. It's worth checking if your DVD player is multi-region though. I have never played a Region 1 DVD on my machine, which was quite cheap, but I checked, it it claimed to be multi-region. When this DVD arrived (very quickly, considering it was sent from the US) I put it in the machine and it played without any problems.
As with the other two DVDs, this one has three separate stories, each introduced by Niamh Cusack in a period film clip. This DVD includes Pigling Bland, Samuel Whiskers and the Roly-Poly Pudding and the Tailor of Gloucester. IMO, the second tale is the best, but quite brutal, so if you are the kind of person who thinks children should only be exposed to sugary stories, then it may not be for you.
I've given this 5, because these stories are really well produced, with character voices provided by some of the best actors and actresses of the day and illustrations exactly in the style of Beatrix Potter.
