Review

A hilarious and blithely grim cautionary tale. Willis' agile rhymes dance across the page. (Jake Hope The Bookseller )

Ideal if you're looking for something a bit cheeky, a bit naughty, and lots of fun. Recommended. (Keith Dudhnath TheBookbag.co.uk )

Vibrant illustrations full of colour, energy and life couple the text in an equally humorous way. (Early Years Educator )

A very enjoyable cautionary tale with flowing text and really funny illustrations. Children will love this one. (Parents In Touch )

This book is so delightful, everyone will want to read it lots of times. (Armadillo Magazine )

Book Description

A gloriously funny cautionary tale from the multi-award winning Jeanne Willis.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!! 1 April 2011
Format:Paperback
I would give this book 10 stars. I have 3 children the elder 2 are 20 and 24 and the youngest is 3 (I know, I don't know what happened). Anyway, Georgie Grub was the older two's favourite book together with Mucky Mabel. So naturally I searched for these books again for the 3 year old, only to find that they are out of print. Managed to get Georgie Grub but still hunting for Mucky Mabel. Georgie Grub is fantastic rhyming book about a boy who does not wash, he gets thrown out of school and home and eventually sleeps in a dustbin. A brilliant book!! We love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Georgie Grub 13 Mar 2007
Format:Hardcover
This book is fantastic! In the true style of the cautionary tale, this story shows the unfortunate consequences of children not washing. Every mucky pup should have this read to them (it works well read aloud and has a good rhythm and rhyme to it)!
