Can I add anything to what has already been said, this IS a wonderful piece of Panto/Ballet.The costumes are very good giving the idea of an over the top Panto, and the story certainly flies along at a fast pace. The Royal Opera House I think have stretched their necks out a lot for this production, you'll either love or hate it,there can be no middle of the road,I love it.
The music is very good and played to a very high standard by the ROH Orchestra conducted by Barry Wordsworth.Laurel Cuthbertson was a very good choice for Alice, but the show was stolen by the Queen of Hearts -Zenaida Yanowsky, her portrayal completely OTT and hilarious, this is the added treat awaiting you.
The whole Ballet and all the Dancers put their all into what is pure escapism.
Should you buy it ? Yes its a bright star in the up and coming Ballet's of the future.
The reason for only 4 stars, well its not a Swan Lake,or even a Cinderella, and Amazon only giving us such a small choice of 1 - 5 just does not allow for what would have been a 9 out of 10 star production.
