Don't want to upset anyone but, I didn't buy these for Icing but, for making Salt dough models.
The different 'edges' and dimples and shapes make for great textures in the Salt dough just as they would in Icing.
They could probably be used for clay work too.
I wouldn't ONLY look at these for working with for icing purposes.
They are a good price, arrived very quickly and offer a wide range os tools for making different shapes and textures.
Perfect for what I wanted them for.
I can't comment on their efficacy for Icing or clay work BUT, they are strong so should be able to withstand the extra pressures for working with those media.

on reading other reviews i thought wow these will be great for my salt dough plaques . on recieving and useing i found them awful, very bulbus and hard to get a flat edge. better off using a kitchen knife , tooth pic and ruler
great item daughter uses them all the time when iceing her cakes. very handy for making flowers would reccommend this to all my friends
