I purchased this mainly for use when frying steak. I really like the idea of a splatter guard but am really disappointed with this product. The guard is black coated with some sort of paint, after only a couple of uses the paint is chipping and falling off and the metal underneath rusted. I can no longer use it for cooking just in case the paint ends up in the food, or the rust!
