I bought this book to help me teach a short course in video production and web video. It's easy to read, has useful information for beginner and more advanced levels, and covers everything from production (shooting, lighting and sound) to outputting in various formats, and, especially useful, sections on promoting your video and getting it seen once it's online. I'd already tried to promote a video on Youtube with limited results and this book has given me very useful information on how to get better results next time!

Some parts of this book are great, but it doesn't have a clear focus and seems to skim over everything. You go from very basic stuff like types of microphones to multi camera shoots, journalistic ethics and building your own studio in the space of about 80 pages.

The subject matter is so broad that my main feeling after reading it was that I'd skimmed over a lot of ground, but not really learned anything useful after the first two chapters.

To be effective the book either needs to be about 3x longer, or to focus specifically on people wanting to make their first steps beyond basic webcam type stuff.
