Biography

“While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was–and how much fun we were still having, in the process,” says SCORPIONS lead singer KLAUS MEINE about the band’s new album STING IN THE TAIL. “We want to end the SCORPIONS’ extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely gracious for ... Read more in Amazon's Scorpions Store

5.0 out of 5 stars bulls eye 19 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Been a huge fan for over 17 years and finally will be able to get this masterpiece in cd-format. Glad they added 'Suspender Love' and really hope this is the studio-version, not the live version. Think that Uli's guitar work is at it's peak in this release in songs like Your Light (my favourite off this album) and We'll Burn The Sky. Signs of the band moving into more commercial direction are in sight in this one, but that doesn't matter. Reunion with Uli is something this band hasn't done yet, so...hoping for the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 Great songs. 21 Feb 2003
By Adam
Format:Audio CD
This is, unfortunately, the last Scorpions album with Uli John Roth (Except for the Tokyo Tapes Live Recording). This is however, perhaps one of the best work they've ever done together. This version of the CD is a re-issued version with 2 bonus tracks, one of which being a live recording of the song "Polar Nights" which was left off of the remastered version of Tokyo Tapes because of the limited lengths of CDs. This Is one of my favourites and might become one of yours if you buy it. I recommend this to anyone who loves classic rock, The Scorpions, Or Having a good time listening to rock. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent rock album 15 July 2002
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This record was, along with the live Tokyo Tapes, the final album the band recorded with Uli Jon Roth. It has his stamp all over it, as the band's subsequent move to mindless fist-in-the-air stadium rock proved.
This album is chock full of great tunes, my personal favorites being "We'll Burn The Sky", "The Sails of Charon", "Your Light" and "Born To Touch Your Feelings". The playing on this album is superb, particularly during "We'll Burn The Sky" and "The Sails of Charon". The double harmones are brilliantly arranged and blow the likes of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest out of the water.
This record was the zenith of the Scorpions career - their earlier albums having been patchy but with some great songs ("Polar Nights" from Virgin Killer is tacked on to the end of this CD - great!) and their output evrafterwards has been extremely poor. Its such a shame that the band split with their main creative force at such an early stage. This record reminds us of what might have been.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of Scorpions' best !! 14 Aug 2001
Format:Audio CD
I am not a Scorpions fan, so many may not agree that this is their best album. Their earlier songs in the early 70s were to me, a bunch of tuneless mindless rock songs, except for "In Trance" and "Pictured Life". Here you'll find 8 solid, mature and polished rock numbers, including their incredibly wonderful and heart-touching "Born To Touch Your Feelings" Every song is a classic, and non Scorpions fan may even mistake this as a "best of" compilation. But they should have deleted "He Is A Woman", which sounds out of place here, and should have been thrown back to their earlier albums like "Virgin Killer". But with this new edition including 2 bonus tracks, it is a great buy. I have been waiting for years for this to be released on cd, and you'll bet I have already pre-ordered this !
