Product Description

Welcome to the fictitious little town of Watery, Pennsylvania where the district attorney’s personal secretary, Mary Murray never planned to become a single mom or a suspect in her infant’s disappearance, but she plans to find Jena before she suffers the same fate Mary’s younger brother had when he was taken twelve years earlier.

AND

From a beta reader-I must tell you that everything I've read lately has bored me to tears...until today. Honestly, I could not put TAKEN down. I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the author captured each character's personality and conveyed them to the reader with such clarity, that they felt like real people. I was thrilled with how the book ended---Lucilla

From The Author

Years ago a small child was taken from his home not far from where I live. The child was never found. His disappearance haunted me over the years, and still does. Hopefully someday I will know what happened to that little boy.

It breaks my heart every time I hear a news report about a missing child. So I suppose the disappearance of that little boy long ago and those heart breaking news stories is what drove me to write TAKEN.

I love a good thriller and this one had the makings of a good one. But although it was a rapid fire start, it quickly raced to the end without ever really exploring the characters and their intentions. It was cliched and not very plausible and the author twisted the plot to satisfy the readers need for intrigue rather than creating a storyline that had any believability. Not a bad effort but definitely amateur compared to the likes of Grafton, Connelly and Childs.

A young baby is taken while its mother sleeps. Several people might have a motive for taking the child, and the characters are developed in order to intrigue the reader into speculation of who the perpetrator of the crime might be. The story starts quite strongly, but fades towards the end as though the writer is in a hurry to finish, and the final closure disappointed me with the unnecessary sentimentality. Having said this, I felt that the story itself deserved 4 stars, but I had to knock off a star as I was distracted by poor proof-reading, especially in the latter part of the book.

A decent enough book
Although I read this in a couple of sittings I can't really say it was because I couldn't put it down, more because it was quite a short book. Read more

Poor, frankly
I downloaded this novel when doing the inevitable trawl of free downloads for my new Kindle. It had a couple of decent reviews so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Read more

Just Silly
I wish I hadn't bothered. Badly written. Completely implausible plot. It was completely obvious "whodunnit". Really - buy something else.

It was OK
I did enjoy this book as the start was very fast pace and I could never guess what was coming next. However, with this huge build up I was slightly dissapointed in the end. Read more
