Following the stellar success of their self-titled debut, 1995 saw the Soldier Soldier stars waste no time in pillaging fourteen more standards for another round of lucrative celeb karaoke. Even for those who couldn't claim to be fans though, the return of Robson And Jerome wasn't an altogether bad thing: Grandparents are notoriously hard to buy Christmas presents for, but cold indeed are the elderly heart-cockles that couldn't be warmed by the pair's rendition of "Silent Night". Sixties pop purists may find it harder to forgive when it comes to "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted", "Oh, Pretty Woman", and "Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart"--but as with Robson And Jerome's first self-titled affair, at least someone went to the trouble of orchestrating the whole thing. And Robson Green (the shorter one) even gave some of the proceeds of Take Two to his local Socialist group! Chap! --Peter Paphides

This is a must have for people who like good music and have lived a while. Great arrangements and great voices.GET IT along with their first,called robson and green.

I thought that the the album was extremely good listening

This album is probably one of the most easy listening CD's that I have ever had the privalage to listen to. It makes for good listening whatever you are doing. Whether travelling in the car on the way to work or school, or whether you are just wanting to relax and enjoy the peaceful serenity that this CD offers. This CD is one of my favourites in my collection and the music which it offers is very enjoyable. It is a get away from all the realitively modern rap and house "songs". The old classics which Robson and Jerome have compiled here are all time classics not just one time hits that fade in the memory and die forever they are songs that stick in the head and have simple rememberable words in them. The songs on the album range from the Unchained Melody of the Righteuos Brothers to the all time war classic of Dame Vera Lynn The White Cliffs of Dover. The music has some what changed in its base apperance in that it has had life injected into it. There are hit! s from the world of Rock to Soul. So if you want to kick off those shoes sit back relax and listen to some descent music then this is the CD for you.
